Soave Enterprises, Kalea Bay
Mastclimbers LLC was bidding to supply the hoisting for a new luxury 24-floor condo building in Naples, Florida. The Fraco construction elevation SEH 6000 was identified as a good fit for this somewhat demanding building. With sheer walls separating the access through the building, it was a six-car project, two single cars, and two dual cars. Because of the location of the hoists, a material run back would be required for each car.
The owners of Kalea Bay decided that the best option was to purchase the equipment needed rather than to rent, and Fraco Products of Montreal, Canada was selected as their supplier. Mastclimbers worked with the owner, the GC, and Fraco, and was successful in being awarded the contract to install the hoists and the runback.
Mastclimbers LLC provided all the labor on-site for the erecting of the construction hoists and the runback, building up each floor as the building continued skyward, and providing a seamless operation that met, or even exceeded, the schedule.
Mastclimbers also provided training for the operators and the daily and weekly maintenance for the Fraco SEH construction hoists. Fraco SEH Series rack and pinion construction hoists are designed for safe and efficient transport of personnel and material. Mostly used for building construction, the SEH Series elevators have proven themselves as reliable, hard-working units that stand up to the rigors of the construction market. Available in either single or twin car configuration they can be combined with other Fraco products too. SEH Series models are built with common electrical and mechanical components easily purchased from local suppliers. A sliding door that allows lateral loading is available as an option with heavy range models too.
The Fraco Runback Platform System is the perfect complement to SEH Series construction hoist or other elevators. Made to allow access between construction hoists and buildings, the runback platform is a temporary structure installed on a floor or a roof allowing the hoist to be tied to it. It allows labor savings of up to 30%. The Fraco runback platform principle is quite simple; the system is a combination of landing floors made of the aluminum ledger, landing beams, planks, plywoods, and modular system scaffold which includes vertical posts with rosettes and braces.
By using vertical posts with rosettes, the Fraco system can be easily adjusted to any landing level. A finer adjustment can be achieved by linking landing beam attachment to the rosettes. All parts are lightweight so can be installed without a crane and supporting equipment. All you need is a hammer and no wrenches, so there are fewer items that could potentially fall when installers are working. There are no loose parts either; instead, the system uses wedge connectors in the place of nuts and bolts.
